Thank you Grandma and Grandpa Deskins!

We opened Addy's gifts from Grandma and Grandpa Deskins the other day and Adalei was in heaven. She loves all of the books and the puzzle and the "talking" book. Mom especially loved the dress! Thank you so much Grdma and Grdpa!

Just waiting patiently for Daddy to help get her gift out of its box.

Signing "Thank you" to Grdma and Grdpa!

Thanks Bridget and Gabe!

And thanks to Matt and Jess! We had a wonderful birthday celebration with our friends and they got Adalei this beautiful Tinkerbelle chair. She loves it! It is just a perfect size for her and she climbs in and out of it all day long. She loves to sit in it and "show off" how cool she is.

More from the park

So yesterday we went to this fabulous park with our wonderful friends! (I took this off the website as a description of the park because it's better than my description would have been) This park is a place where children who use wheelchairs, walkers or braces, or who have sensory or developmental disabilities, can have a parallel playground experience of fun and exploration. At CLEMYJONTRI (the name of the park)....
  • Ramps connect structures
  • Swings have high backs, arm rests and special safety features
  • Rubber surfacing allows wheelchairs to roll easily
  • Lowered monkey bars provide easy access
  • Equipment is designed to be sensory rich so all children can participate with peers
  • Wider openings allows easy access to play structures

Other features include a carousel and a picnic pavilion. The entrance road leads to an 81-space parking area and a drop-off zone for vehicles whose passengers need close access. Future development will incude other amenities in the surrounding 10 acres of space.

So this is a sweet park, especially for little ones because everything is so easily accessible. And the part that I love about it is the whole park is that rubber, bouncy, soft ground...so you aren't walking on hard concrete and when Adalei falls as she gets going too fast it doesn't hurt as bad as falling on rough cement. And like mentioned above there is a carousel in the middle of the park and on weekdays it is free....how cool! Adalei LOVED riding on a horse. She gets a little scared when it goes up and down but she liked it.

Check out my chins!

This is so adorable! I love how everytime the horse goes up she reaches out to Trav.

1...can you believe it?

Can you believe that Addy is 1? We can't! It seems like yesterday that she was born and now she is running around, has teeth, eats real food, and takes real dumps. We love her very much and she has such a fun personality. We went to a very cool park for Addy's birthday today and she had a lot of fun. There were so many cool toys to play with and stuff to climb on. Enjoy the pics!

"Make me go faster mom!"

"Does anyone know how to start this thing?"

Addy loves to go down slides...even if at the end of this video she doesn't look too happy. (I think the little bumps on the slide scared her.)

Drawing

Adalei wanted to draw so I gave her some paper and a pen. She did very well:)

Maybe we have a lefty?

Addy loves pizza!

I made some delicious pizza the other night and Adalei loved it. She is just like her Mama...she LOVES bread! I made some wheat bread the other day and she and I ate it in three days. I don't think Travy got any.

Watch her little face after we hand her the piece of pizza. She does this all the time when she gets something cool to eat. It is so funny!

New Stroller

Here is our new stroller that we got. We decided to get a smaller one because we're tired of carting around the big chicco. This folds up really compact so it fits perfect in the new car: http://www.miamodainc.com and Adalei really likes it.
And the best part is we got it on a super sale! You know me, I don't pay full price for anything...except milk and marshmallow fluff.

Happy Day Everyone

Nothing new happening in these parts. Just getting ready for the big "1" for Addy Belle. And yes, Aunt Steph, that is a bruise on her forehead. She's got them all over. I just found another one tonight on her back, poor baby.

Olympic fever, we never want it to end!

Adalei loves watching the Olympics...okay, she is actually forced to watch them because that is all that is on during the 17 days of the Olympics or the only thing everyone should be watching. She'll have to tune in after the closing ceremony for her regularly scheduled programs of Sesame Street and Little Einsteins:)
Hehehe, caughtcha!
Adalei is pretty good about sharing. That's a surprise seeing that her Mama is not when it comes to food and drink:)

I'm glad I was able to catch a little of her "cuddling" her Koala.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!

"I look up to you, Daddy. You are my hero and my protector."

"...and I am one cool chick!"

Daddy, we love you so very much and we're so grateful to have such an AMAZING Daddy/Husband!
Happy, Happy Birthday!

Baseball Game

I don't think I ever posted these pictures of when we went to a minor league game for the Potomac Nationals. It was dollar Monday so it was fun. We enjoyed the game and Adalei had fun watching her cousins run around as well as other kids.

Messes, messes, messes

They find everything don't they?! Sometimes I wish she had more "toys" to play with instead of random things (which I know need to be put somewhere, yet I don't have anywhere to put them) to distribute throughout the house....but then I don't know if I'd rather have toys strewn all over the house or my running stuff...either way it's crap all over. Maybe she needs some toys:) Oh, and she loves her Vitamin Water...maybe that's where she gets all of her energy.
